More about this scene

The antiquarian David Davy, who stayed here in 1830, recorded that 'finding we could be very decently taken care of here, we engaged beds, ordered a fire while our hostess was preparing us a mutton chop'. The pub was threatened with closure in 1995, but it was saved following a successful campaign to 'Save our Swan'. The car is an Austin A40.
