A Family Christening.

A Memory of Arksey.

I was born in Park Road, Bentley in 1945 at my maternal grandparents home.
In 1948 we moved to a brand new house in Scawthorpe.
I married my husband in 1963 and had three children by 1968. All my children were 21 when they married and went on to have five children between them. There was Adam in 1988, Dani in 1992, Chloe and Sophie in 1996 and Harry in 1998.
In 1999 it was decided that we would have a large family Christening at the beautiful Arksey Church. It was a quiet June morning when all our families and friends gathered for the unusual Christening of nine of us.
First came me, then my three children, the my five grandchildren. The age range was from fifty four years to nine months.
It was certainly a day to remember.
Later we all gathered at `The White Lodge` (formally Dario`s) for a splendid party and disco.
A family friend managed to capture on video the whole glorious day and I regularly watch it. The grandchildren are now 24, 20, 16, 16, and 14.
It was a very expensive day out for my husband and I but so unforgetable.
