More about this scene

Bampton has an interesting variety of 17th- and 18th-century buildings; many of those in the High Street have 19th- or 20th-century frontages. The Market Square, which we can partly see bottom left, is more open today, and is dominated by the Town Hall, built in 1838 by George Wilkinson. The town has strong traditional links with morris dancing.
