The Bennetts did live next door to us their names are Bernard,Colin and Christine they moved to a maisonette above us in Dorset rd. I went to John Milton school and when we moved to Wyvil school in South Lambeth rd.I wonder if you remember my cousins John and Roy Goodson and Freddie Cordingley they lived in Woodgate st. We are also related to the Wicks, Fairbrass and Hopson families. I will speak to some of my aunts to help me with some more memories.look forward to hearing from you.. Best Wishes Christine

Hi i remember the Bennett family they lived by the entrance to the brewery just along from the Crown where my dad Jack along with his mates Alfie(Cabbage)Green and Tom Watkins spent most of their lives,in 58 when they moved us out we moved to Richborne Terrace a brand new maisonette with an INDOOR toilet bathroom and electricity,i still keep in touch with Barry McDonnellhe lives at Earlsfied while i now live in Rochester
Hi I am Mike and I lived with my Sister, Mum and Dad at 15 Currie Street (prefab building) where we stayed until October 1961 when we moved to Putney. After when most families had moved out we became good friends with the Leonard family who also lived in a prefab at the corner of Belfour Street and Woodgate street. Just across the road from this family, in an old deserted house, lived the onion men. I recall they had a wooden stables to one side of the house. Sorry can't recall many names of people from that area, still good to read your comments. Somewhere in my box of photos I do have a picture of the Crown Pub.
Mike
