More about this scene

We are looking down the street in the opposite direction to photograph B672001, with the Forge Hammer now on the right. Just beyond it on the left is the English Baptist chapel of 1888, now the Evangelical church. There has been a chapel on this site since 1844, and the Baptist tradition has always been strong in the Blaenavon area.

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

I have been doing research on my family tree and found my greatgrandfather William G. Godfrey, was born 1865 in Blaenavon and lived on 48 King Street, in the 1880's. He was a minor and immigrated to the USA in 1889 with his dad John and mother Sarah. They had a lot of kids. Just wondering if there is still family over there.
