More about this scene

The Village 1902 Here we look south down the main road into the village as it nears the estuary. The houses on the left survive, eighteenth-century but with the windows changed to typical mid-Victorian margin glazing barred sashes. The house beyond with the catslide rear roof is dated 1694. The buildings on the right made way for new ones at the entrance to High Street in the 1950s. Seaside and Coastal Sussex: From Bosham to Rye
