My grandfather was Chief Constable of Dorset from 1925 - 1956. When he retired my grandparents bought a house called either Ravensthorpe or Ravenscroft (it was a long time ago and I can't remember for sure!)in Victoria Place. Every year from 1957 when I was four till 1963 we would come here and stay for a couple of weeks for our summer holiday.
