The Animals At Burtons/Eltham Baths?

A Memory of Eltham.

I have been hunting around trying to find details of The Animals band's concert at Eltham in the mid 1960s. My family moved to Lee Green in the mid 60s, I moved to Kidbrooke School for my final two school years, and my sister and I used to go dancing at Eltham. I've never forgotten the day a school friend said The Animals were playing at Eltham. Her older sister knew one of them (I have no idea how), and we could stand right down the front! I associate the event with Burtons, in the main street, but the details are hazy: I know we also used to go dancing at the baths. Well, we went and we did stand right in front of the stage and one member of the band looked down at our group and waved at us. After the concert my friend's sister said the band was catching the train up to Charing Cross back to their hotel, she was going with them and did my friend and I want to come along? We all walked down to Eltham Station (either Eltham Park or Well Hall, I think it was then) and went with them on the train up to Charing Cross, where they said goodbye and got out to go to their hotel, and we stayed on the train for the journey back. I was so star struck I don't remember opening my mouth to speak the entire journey! They were very pleasant and chatty. Imagine any chart band now catching a train back to their hotel after a gig! This must have been 1965 or 1966, I would have been 15 or 16.

I went to that concert. I believe it was at the Baths, that's where all the bands played. I lived in Bexleyheath.
