Shelia Wilson

A Memory of Frimley Green.

I can only just remember this scene, as I was in the army awaiting a compassionate discharge. I was at Deepcut in Blackdown when I met this lovely girl called Shelia. She was very fond of horses and as I remember she was into show jumping. I was given a job at the stables. I became very friendly with her and her boyfriend, Tony, and I was invited to her 16th birthday party at her mum and dad's house. The house was down a dead end lane, but I cannot remember the name of the lane. She gave me a photo of herself and 2 friends "Carol & Dennis". When I was discharged from the army I was asked to stay on in Frimley; I did and got a job in a factory making fibre glass - what a job that was. I owe a debt of gratitude to Shelia, her family & friends, because when I left the army I had no work and nowhere to live. But they all stood by me and help me through it all. However, I made a decision to come home to Manchester to see my parents, who were not very well. I remember telling Shelia that I would return when I got my family problems sorted out. I made a call to Shelia that I would not be returning, she was deverstated and quite understandably upset, and so was I. It was the worst telephone call I had ever made. I said I would call again. Sadly I never made that call. That was in 1966 (46 years ago). Shelia will be 62 now, I think she had a brother called Ian. If anyone in this small village knows her or anyone who was a friend of Shelia I would be eternally grateful for this message to be passed on. She may well have left the village but I hope someone will know if she has and is in contact with her or her family. I can be contacted on facebook (john sigley manchester) or email john1191@aol.com. I would love to meet up with Shelia and her current family and to thank her personally for the help she and her family gave to me in my hour of need. I look forward to any assistance.
Kind regards......John
