The Arkwrights
A Memory of Harlow.
We moved to Harlow from London in 1954 when our house was brand new. We lived in The Arkwrights and when it opened I went to St Albans Primary. Later I went to Netteswell Seondary, which has now been demolished. I have so many happy memories of growing up in Harlow, playing in Stow Woods, cycling along to different places and playing on the play area round Moot House. I also remember buying sweets, 4 for a penny, at the shop in the Stow. There was great excitement when Bill Haley appeared in the film Rock Around the Clock at the cinema.
