About this photo
There has been a bridge over the Walkham
here since the 11th century. Recent roadworks
revealed within the existing structure a much
earlier bridge, possibly medieval, around which
the present bridge was built. Upstream (right)
of the bridge is a weir, at which it is possible
to see salmon leaping.
