Bath Road
A Memory of Hounslow.
I have fond memories of Hounslow, I was born and lived on the Bath Road, near the Windsor castle pub, many a time I used to stand outside the pub waiting for my parents, with a bottle of coke and a packet of crisps. I went to Wellington school and also Hounslow Manor. My early memories of going to Hounslow west on a Saturday morning to the Odeon for Saturday morning pictures, then in the afternoon going to the toy shop! to spend my pocket money. It was a fantastic toy shop where they had a dolls hospital and my dolls were often mended there. My sister used to have dancing lessons above the odeon. I used to go to Lampton park a lot, and Beavers Park, but my favourite was Inwood Park where there was a boating lake. I ended up working as secretary for the co-op on the Staines Road. I cannot believe how much the area has changed over the years.
