Evacuee With Thomas Family
A Memory of Kenfig Hill.
The lovely Thomas family took me in as an evacuee during the war years, they had a daughter, Myra or similar. Sundays were special, we visited grandparents up on a hill.
Moria C.M. Sunday School presented me with a Bible which I still have. Night chapel, the children had to go down the front and read a text in Welsh which I managed to get through.
Mr Thomas was in the police force. I remember feeling very strange at first but they were such a lovely family I have nothing but fond memories of my stay.
I have been living in Australia since 14 years of age, and am now a grand-mother of 7 grandchildren, and have three wonderful sons and daughter-in-laws.
