Wonder if they worked there together Lyn. Remember mum arranging the flowers at Riley Smiths, must be nigh on 50 years ago. I remember Janice Fosters auntie living in one of the cottages in Brewhurst Lane

Its hard to remember some things but I know they had lots of little dogs that did a mess wherever they pleased...Gosh I love it down there, went for lots of walks when I came home last...

My mum and dad worked for Riley smiths in 1948-51, we lived in the bungalow at the top of the hill in brewhurst lane. The electric light for the bungalow was supplied from a bank of batteries from the mill, and at the weekend would run out and we had to go back to oil lamp.
