My Fathers Evacuation

A Memory of Malmesbury.

My father James Tregellis, , was evacuated to Malmesbury during the second world war , he had three billets in the town, and has many stories of the time he was in Malmesbury which I have turned into a short film script, and is intended to be shot very shortly. the third and final billet was at a Mr & Mrs Stewert, who wanted to adopt my father and take him to America. His second billet was to a mad woman who mistreated him and used to say he would burn in hell, he could not ever remember being allowed to wash or change his clothes during the time with the mad woman. he was also made to go to the Catholic School though he is not a Catholic. The first billet they almost worked him to death. he talked about playing out late at night and playing in the Three corner meadow. He has many more and detailed stories and looks back at his time in Malmesbury with much fondness.
