Sparkhill/Sparkbrook

A Memory of Sparkbrook.

I grew up in Sparkhill between 1960s-1986, , My Father lived in Sparkbrook with his Grandmother Florence Stubley & Aunties, Flora, Dora, Freda & his mother Phyllis for many years before he met & Married my Mother in the 1950s,

I Have so many great memories of Sprakhill & Sparkbrook, went to Local Primary School & Secondary in Sparkhill .
,How things have changed in Sparkhill & Sparkbrook over the Years!!

,Anyone remember the Piccadilly picture house on the Stratford Road??
It was Only 5pence Entrance fee in the 1970s,,. haha, makes me laugh now as you couldn't buy a penny chew for that now!!

I always Remember the Salvation Army Band on a Sunday Morning playing at the top of Our Road in Sparkhill, Went to Brownies for a while at the Salvation Army Centre in the 70s, Infact I wasn't there that long as we couldn't afford to Buy the Uniform what the Brownie Required..haha

Loved getting the Bus to Town in the 70s when they Reduced the Fair to 2,pence..Lol, Remember the Flyover in Digbeth & the Massive King Kong they had outside that Motor place..ha

Loved playing Tracking around the block where we lived & Knock door run with my Childhood pals.., Aww, all those Memories..

Wonder if anyone remembers Us Burgess Girls? Deborah, Stephanie & Tracey & me Lisa Burgess? Me & my hubby lived In Sparkbrook for a number of years in the late 1980s when we Married.. Would be great to hear off anyone who remembers me or my family!
