My Grandparents Were From West Hartlepool...

I live in Alberta, Canada now, but my grandparents were Edith Readman who married Ernest Rowlands in 1912. If anyone has any information about them from when they lived there or their families.. please let me know.

Hello, My grandmother was Minnie Readman the younger sister of Edith who married James Hugh Thompson. I visisted Canada in 1978 and stayed with Ross Rowlands, son of my Great Aunt Edith, who I did meet together with other Rowlands family members. I am of course aware that she died aged 106, a family record as far as I am aware. I did receive in 1985 a family tree from Michael Rowlands (Ross's second of four sons), but I'm not sure whether all the grandchildren of my great aunt Edith are included. Margaret Rowlands, daughter of George Rowlands came to stay with my parents Brian and Rosalind Thompson in 1972 and was a 'pen friend' of my sister Hilda. I live in Leicester at 88, Fairfax Road, LEICESTER LE4 9EJ tel 0116 2766228 and have regularly visited (West) Hartlepool so appreciate your photographs. I was contacted by another Canadian relative last year but lost the details of them when my laptop broke. Minnie died in 1980 aged 75 and my grandpa died in 1991 aged 89, then living at an old people's home in York, England.
I would be grateful to know who your parents are, as I did meet all of Edith's children except Dorothy in 1978, and also met all of Ross's 4 sons and in addition to Margaret mentioned above I met George's children Cathy, Ross and Paul.

Hi there, I live in Guelph, Ontario. I have contacted family from England. My father is John Readman. My Grandfather (his dad) was Edith Readman's brother. We are related as i have corresponded with Stephen Thompson and others from across the sea. Please respond if you can. My brother David, is married and lives in Calgary.
