West Molesey in The 1960s
Can anyone remember the shops opposite St Peter's Church, West Molesey or did you work in them? To name a few: Mitchells greengrocer, Tesco the Modern Grocer, Marchall H Dixon, butcher, Stevens newsagent, Regent Fisheries, next to the Royal Oak pub, Millers Confectioner. It would be interesting to hear from you. I worked at and managed Tesco in the 1960s or perhaps you may remember the vicar, Father John Yeend, it would be good to hear from you.

RE: RE: West Molesey in The 1960s
Yes, I remember the shops in West Molesey as my uncle Ceril Turner used to work in the butcher's shop there. Also my Grandad and his family the Dobsons had a grocery shop in Walton Road, East Molesey opposite the now Tesco Stores. I spent many an afternoon over there in the shop after school as my mum always came to see her parents and brother and sister at the shop every afternoon. I used to play with a girl called Jean Littleproud who lived over the shops a bit further down the road with her family, she had a brother called Brian. Also there was Taylors the bakers a bit further back and I think they had another shop next door to the Royal Oak Pub. I used to know a girl called Georgina whose dad was the landlord of that pub.
