Grandad Lack
Hello again. I don`t know when Grandad Lack was born. I have no contakt with any of the Lack family because my mother remarried after my father Eric Lack died. Let me know if you find a link between the Lacks

The Lacks
My great great grandfather was born in Willingham, his name was Joseph Lack. Many of my family are buried in the churchyard. I have not been to Willingham yet but hope to do so in the near future. I feel that I know the place so well even though I haven't been there. I am researching my family history, and found that they come from Willingham. Quite a lot of my family were carpenters. It was nice to see someone relating to Lack. Maybe not a good memory but hopefuly it will be a good one when I go to Willingham. Pat Mason
Grandad Lack of The Black Bull
I remember staying in the Black Bull, run by my grandad, grandad Lack. In the back garden was a huge willow tree and in one of the outhouses all the metal tops from the beer bottles were discarded. I used to sit in the tap room and look though the net curtains smelling strongly of cigarette smoke at the main road. He gave me fizzy cherryade. Auntie Peggy and Uncle George lived with grandad and took over when he died. Up the road was the fruit orchard where we picked apples and plums. I was very young but remember it well. How wonderful to find this photograph.
Memories of Cambridgeshire
The Lanes
This photo shows me, my mother and two of my sisters walking home, in either 1967 or 1968. I am the small boy looking back towards the camera. We lived in a bungalow not visible in the photo, on the left hand side almost opposite the large house on the right. This house was owned by Mrs Turner, from whom we would buy our eggs and whenever we went round there, she would always give us a Nuttalls Mintoe.
Willingham - Haydens
My nan was born a Hayden in London, her father Levi and his ancestors go back in the village to the 1500s. Nan and grandad - Emma and Henry (Harry) Welsh - lived at Ivy Cottage, 30 Church Street in their twilight years and are buried in the churchyard. Nan once said she was related to the whole village. I am researching the family tree, and I must admit that many family lines do entwine!
Childhood Memories
I was born in Earith High St. at a place called 'The Laurels', long gone I think. I went to school at Earith VC and the head teacher was Mr. Harrison (Pip). My mother kept the Crown pub for a long time and before that the George and Dragon. I would like to hear if anyone is running a web site as I have lots of old pictures I would like to share.
Earith, Cook's Drove
Hi, my husband, Tony, was born in Cooks Drove, Earith, in the actual house that's still there to this day. After a year there he moved to St Ives but we now live in Bluntisham.
All his sisters were born in Earith and his dad used to bike to over railway crossing where he worked as the guardsman and crossing guard. But when we moved to St Ives his dad worked for the then St Ives borough council. His dad's name was Ernie Simons, and I wondered if anyone remembers him.
School Master's House, High Street
Anyone living in Earith before 1970 will know my name, not because of me, but through my father, Don Guymer, and my mother Beryl. Dad was known because of the haulage firm he used to run out of the house in the High Street.
What I would dearly love is to find some photos of the house as it used to be, not as it is now, a bungalow. If there is ANYONE who has any pics of the OLD SCHOOLMASTER'S HOUSE, PEMBROOKE HOUSE in Earith, I would be gratefull for a copy of the pics, photocopy, scanned copy, I don't mind.
I was born in the house in 1961, one of the last I think to be born in the village. I lived there up until I was 18, then off I went to the army, returning after I had done my time. I now live in St Ives, but often think back to what the old house would be like now.
