The Lacks

The Black Bull c1955

My great great grandfather was born in Willingham, his name was Joseph Lack. Many of my family are buried in the churchyard. I have not been to Willingham yet but hope to do so in the near future. I feel that I know the place so well even though I haven't been there. I am researching my family history, and found that they come from Willingham. Quite a lot of my family were carpenters. It was nice to see someone relating to Lack. Maybe not a good memory but hopefuly it will be a good one when I go to Willingham. Pat Mason

RE: RE: The Lacks

Hi My great-great-grandfather was John Gearman Pryke, who married Esther Lack in Willingham Parish Church in 1844. John was a widower, born in 1817, and Esther was born in 1825, both in Willingham. Esther's father, Daniel Lack was a carpenter. John Pryke senior was a farmer. I would be interested to hear from anyone who would like to share family information. Thanks Ray Mitchell 08/01/10

RE: RE: The Lacks

My Great Great Grandfather was John Gearman Pryke who also maried Esther Lack. Who had Albert Pryke 1854-1921 marrying Susanna Smith.
This couple had Benjamin Charles Pryke 1881-1932 married to Jenny May Betts. Benjamin Charles Pryke involved with Annie Tyler having my father Benjamin Charles Pryke born 1914 known as Wareham after 1918. I am the daughter of Benjamin Charles Jnr 1914. Any information on the family would be most welcome. Thank you Elizabeth Devine 31/1/2011
