RE: RE: Co-Op Thief
The story of the Windy Nook murder is an interesting one however, it did not take place on Co-Operative Terrace (a local street built AFTER the date of the murder, by the Co-Operative Society and originally called Co-Operative Society Terrace). The Store was located at the top of Howard Street, Windy Nook, facing onto Chapel Square and Joseph Noble and John Pattinson lived at The Stead which was just below Stone Street at the back of the Ebenezer Chapel. There is still some doubt asto whether or not Joseph Noble was the true murderer though if it was not, why was he holding so much stolen Co-Op property in his home? If you want to know more about the murder, try and obtain a copy of the Jubilee History of Windy Nook & District Co-Operative Society by John Oxberry. It may be available on inter-library loan - try your local library. The book is occasionally found in rare book shops and expect to pay around the 50-80 mark.

RE: RE: Co-Op Thief
I have the cutting from the paper about the murder of John Patterson - there were more people involved with the shooting. Somehow a photo of John Patterson's grave was found in a man's flat in London.
