Woodford Bridge And St Paul's Church
I grew up living in Moreton Gardens, my maiden name was Nicholls. I have 2 sisters Pat and Laura. My dear mum used to take us to church every Sunday morning, and I used to sing in the choir. I have some great memories of the jumble sales we had in the church hall, I would rummage through all the stuff to see if there was anything I could have. It's been a long time since I have been back to England, I now live in Queensland in Australia. I have the best memories of growing up on the council estate. I went to Roding Junior School then on to St Barnabas. I look forward to seeing photos in the future.

RE: RE: Woodford Bridge And St Paul's Church
My maiden name was Brooks and I was born in Gaynes hill Road, Woodford Bridge in 1941. I went to Roding Lane Primary School and then to St Barnabas Secondary School. I was christened in St Paul's and was married there in 1964. We moved to South Woodford and then moved back to Roding Lane North in 1971. All of our four boys went to Roding Primary, it was almost opposite to our house. My mum lived in Gaynes Hill from 1938 until her death in 1989. I remember paddling in the Roding as it was at the bottom of our garden, picking bluebells in bluebell dell off of Drapers Hill, fishing for tiddlers and finding frogs spawn in the pond by the church. It was a village then, my parents were Eastenders and used to travel on an open deck bus to the Woodford countryside. We still live in Essex and paid a surprise visit to some old neighbours last year. It has changed an awful lot, many more flats and new houses. The Barnado site is no longer, a new estate of houses now. Claybury hospital is now apartments. Times change, not always for the better.
