The Town Hall, built in 1872, is on the right, with an advertising placard promoting an Agricultural Show at Berkeley Castle attached to its frontage. The right to hold a market and fair was granted to Maurice, Lord Berkeley by Henry III, and was responsible for the subsequent prosperity of the town.
