Wilfred Albert Parsk
I think my Grandfather was born on this street! He was called Wilfred Albert Parsk and fought in the Somme at about 16 years of age He never spoke much about the war but I know he lost a lot of his friends. He died in the 1980s but his memory is still cherished!

RE: RE: Wilfred Albert Parsk
Lovely to see the pic of the Horse and Groom I spent many summers staying in the Pub with Betty and Alan Jackson. Alan also was the postman, as well as running the pub. I remember walking through the bar each night to go up the stairs to bed. and hearing all the talking. trying to get to sleep.
We had a pump outside in the yard. And pigs and geese on the meadow at the side. Alan grew all his own veggis. and the place was always full of life and so busy. Do you remember the garage over the meadow. I think the man who ran it was called Boast Alan left the pub and moved to a bungalow just over the cross roads. The last time I saw the pub was in 1973 when I came to stay. Have never been back but the memories are so good.
