RE: RE: Avondale Street

In the early and mid 1950s Majorie Hicks of Avondale Street, Ynysboeth was the Post Mistress at the Post Office situated in Williams' Grocers shop on the Main Road, near to the Ynysboeth Hotel. I also remember Kitty May Roberts had a fish and chip shop several doors away. I do not know if it is still there.

RE: RE: Avondale Street

My Nanna Goodman used to live in Avondale Street. I used to visit her every Sunday until we moved away to Ynysybwl. I remember it was around number 55/57 but not sure. I was aged about 6/7 at the time. My younger brother, Kevin and I, used to walk down from Perthcelyn and walk back home later in the afternoon after the most wonderful roast dinner.
