Birthplace
I was born in Curtis Row, Ynysmeudwy Road in the early 1950s. My late father was a coal miner and my mother worked at the watch factory.
We moved to London around 1959 as there was a lack of work. I am now trying to build a family tree. My grandparents had eleven children and lived in Ystradgynlais on the Gurnos estate.
If anyone has any information on the Nicholls family I would be so grateful.
Many thanks.

RE: RE: Birthplace
Hi, are your parents' names Fred and Edna Nicholls by any chance?

RE: RE: Birthplace
My wife and I are tracing her family tree. Particularly the Nicholls family.
They came from the Middlewich area in Cheshire. Joseph Nicholls was a cooper and moved with his wife Mary Eleanor and their children sometime after 1911. They went to work at The Mond ' Clydach Refiniery' One of the sons was called Fred Nicholls. He was born in 1901.
Is it possible we are refering to the same Fred Nicholls??
please email me if you have any info as we have some.

I lived next door to The Nicholls family in Curtis Row from 1951 to 1958. I don't remember Fred but do remember Edna who I last saw when she visited us in Neath in the early 60's. If Michael Nicholls would like a couple of photos of him and his sister(?) please e-mail dennisoowen2010@yahoo.com.
