More about this scene

Caption for Brownsea Island, The Villa 1891: The Villa was built in the 1850s as the vicarage for the newly-built church. But from 1870 until 1891 the house was the home of island owner George Cavendish- Bentinck, who preferred to live there rather than the Castle. The Villa is now within the nature reserve, which embraces a heronry.
