Memories of Headley, the Village 1963

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our website to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was, prompted by the photographs in our archive. These memories are of Headley, The Village 1963

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

I lived in Headley for a short time…. I remember living opposite a few houses and a phone box with a riding school opposite… I remember a friend called Fran… A small youth club… A post office/shop… And somebody called Ian , he had a red van ,used to visit but I think lived in leatherhead or nearby… This was 1969 I was 15 at the time.. Does anyone else remember any of this
The Lych Gate at the entrance to Headley Parish Church (seen at the end of the row of shops) was constructed by local craftsmen and dedicated in 1954. My father as chairman of the Parish Council took part in the Ceremony.
