The swimming baths were opposite the Town Hall. And the library. Had to have swimming lessons there via Grove Rd School. (60s) Diane nee Underhill
Memories of a Delivery Boy 50/60s We moved onto the Beavers Lane Estate in 1951 as it was being built. Our first home was in the Chester Road flats with kids in every flat we soon had a large group of friends, Richard Dave Rosie Carole and Ian and Dave King’s (Entertainer) nephew opposite. I too went to Hounslow town Junior school from age 7, then on to Bulstrode Girls School. Mrs Collins was head teacher. We had Mrs Johnstone for geography, Mrs Davies for English , Mrs Balls for history, miss Hull for science, Mrs Humphreys for sewing. Mrs Tyrrell was my favourite teacher, I remember her doing the Aldermaston March. She was lovely person she took us for current affairs. ...see more
Does anyone remember The Lawns a row of old houses ,now gone .on the Bath Road Hounslow. near the bell and the car park, High street end. The bus stops there now ,in the car park.
