More about this scene

In 1042 Edward the Confessor granted the manor of Littleham to his thane Ordgar. The parish church of Saint Margaret and Saint Andrew dates back to at least 1146, and there may have been an earlier Saxon church on the site. In the graveyard is the tomb of Frances, Lady Nelson, wife of the hero of Trafalgar, who was laid to rest here in 1831.
