S C Cummins, Martin Street/Earle Street, Crewe

A Memory of Crewe.

We are still in touch with Sid & Molly Cummins - both still fit and well in their 90's. My Mum and Dad are George and Chris Hughes. Mum worked in the office sorting out the cash deals for the ice cream vans or dealing with Lombard Finance to get a loan. George/Dad worked in the fibre-glass shop initially before becoming a salesman and travelling up and down the country trying to sell them along with David & Dudley. Sadly Chris passed away in 1993 but Dad is still amazingly fit and well. Names that David (my brother/Ginger) and I remember are Angie Craddock, Carol?, Steve Bond, Joan Jordan, Anne Mackenzie, Frank Birchall, David Bedson, Roy Bamford, Erica? And obviously David, Jenny and Sidney along with Dudley, Pat & Lisa

My mum was sid's cousin and I would love to be in touch with him.
I served my apprenticeship as a coach painter at cummins, great people and a great place to work for , many a happy time there. Don't see many of the skills used there anymore. Remember Sid Cummins giving me £100 for getting through my apprenticeship early.
