Millwain Road

A Memory of Levenshulme.

I wonder if the person asking for memories about Millwain Road, Levenshulme remembers my friend & his family .... The Murray's from 32 Errwood Rd, corner of Millwain Rd. Their house was used in the making of a film (was it the L shaped room?) I was born on Fairbourne Rd in 1950 & lived there until I was 9. I spent a lot of time at the Murray's with my friend Bernard and his now deceased twin, Andrew. Also Robin and David are both now also deceased sadly. There was another brother who died before I met them and whose name I sadly cannot remember. All your memories of the cinemas almost brought me to tears as my dad recently passed away. He kept pigs at Highfield Rd! Regards, Stuart

The family who lived at 32 Errwood Road was the Hulse family, I'm one of them and lived there throughout my childhood. 32 was on the corner of Li den Road, and the Murrays lived on the corner of Milwain and Errwood roads (no. 38?) The film "Hell is a City" was filmed at the detached house on the opposite corner to the Murrays. My mother , Wyn Hulse , knew the Murrays well and we often visited the house. I remember two families who lived at the Errwood Road end of Milwain- Mick and Andrew Anderson-they had a daughter, Delphine and other children, also the Broadbents , whose children attended St Mary's primary with me. I wonder if our paths ever crossed?
