Potton's market existed at the beginning of the 13th century, and the town owes much of its present layout to that period. In the early 1900s a count revealed the existence of 32 alehouses. There are still seven at the last count, and the town boasts its own independent brewery.

As I was only 18 months old at the time and we were not there long, my memories consist of photographs only and these are of members of my family working the land.
