My Family Taylor And Moriarty

A Memory of Brentford.

I first lived opposite the water tower as my Mum and Dad were gatehouse keepers of Kinghams or Sanders.
I also lived in The Dell next to the hospital and Orchard Rd.
My Mum was the youngest of 4 girls Gladys Hilda Violet and Barbara Taylor. Her Dad was Tom Taylor was local coalman and other Taylor family were greengrocers. My Grandad Tom was killed on his horse and cart in 1956 up Boston Manor Road when hit by a Garners coach.
My Mum married George Moriarty from 92 Ealing Road. His Dad lived in Westbury Place during my life time.
My Mum's sisters were strong ladies as was my gran. Violet married Ron Butcher and they had transport and engineering companies in Walnut Tree Road and Windmill Road. ....WVG engineering and Pritchett Bros Transport. Violet also had the hairdressers opposite the Royal Oak. Hilda married Jim Kirby...local lad like my Dad and he worked in Stones Gents Outfitters for many years until he was blown up there one Sunday morning. So much more but eyes going
