Magical Dysart

A Memory of Dysart.

we lived at 15 relief st dysart in the early 50s
moved there from kirkcaldy we had to move out when they started to demolish
the place so sad it was great place to grow up in I was about six or seven yrs old when we
moved there, went to all schools there we left to live in england about 1958/59
I used to deliver the messages for Glasses grocers last time I went back it had sadly closed
cant remember any of their names (my age) there was husband and wife and her grand dad
he used to take me fishing in his boat " firefly" loved it

loved playing down the harbour scrounging fish of the men when they came
in with a boat load of mackeral then selling them to anybody that wanted some
for two or three old pennies . used to get bread rolls from smiths bakers dont make
them like that now do they tasted wonderful . the co-op used to have day out every year in
ravenscraig park were they gave you vouchers for free cakes/lemonade/sandwiches
wonderful times could go on for ever
