More about this scene

Townsend Farm overlooks a junction where the lane to East Quantoxhead leaves the main road. Only a mile from a pleasant and unspoilt beach, the area attracted holiday- makers, and the occupiers of Townsend House helped satisfy their needs by offering meals and accommodation. An interest- ing decorative panel on the wall between the upper windows is formed from beach pebbles.
