Eva Amy Larkin

A Memory of Pinner.

My Great-grandmother was the landlord of this pub in the 1950s and 60s. Her name was Eva Amy Larkin, and she ran this pub as a widow. With my great grandfather she had managed Gunter's tea room in Park Lane during the war, then the Red Lion pub in Hounslow. When Frank Larkin died, she came to Pinner where my Grandad Ron, Eva's daughter Pam's husband, worked part-time to help out. My mum spent many happy school holidays in the pub, and told me of Bruce, Eva Amy's collie and the a Roman legionnaire ghosts in the basement. She retired to Shepperton and died in 1976.
