In 1944
A Memory of Raynes Park.
I was born in Prince George's Avenue in 1940 but spent the war years with my grandparents in Amity Grove. One of my memories of those years was the summer of 1944.
A doodlebug ( remember the name ? ) hit St. Matthews Church in Durham Road
and all the windows in our house (No 43) blew in !!
