A Memory of Rochdale.

I used to live on Bury Road and was a keen swimmer. Well I remember if the swimming baths were busy, I used to hop on the Norden bus and go to the outdoor pool at Norden known as the riviera, boy was that water cod, but what great fun was had.

I remember the Riviera pool up Tenterhouse Brew going out of Norden. I used to go there with my pals Joyce Threlfall and Ann Howarth and yes it was freezing cold, but once we were in then we stayed there. It was later closed and the Tannery (I think) owned the land so used the old buildings to store hides etc., Probably all houses now round there as Norden has extended somewhat since I left in 69.
