Hot Chocolate In The Playground
A Memory of Small Heath.
My name is Linda and I was born in 335 Cooksey road, Small Heath.
I went to Goodwin School in Jenkins street until we left Birmingham in December 1960.
My fondest memory of my school days was during the winter the dinner ladies used to warm up the daily milk rations and make hot cocoa then took this in large white enamel jugs and have gave a cup full to each child in the playground, this made the milk much nicer during those cold winter days and gave me a life long passion for hot chocolate. No one else I mention this too believes me so I am sure we were very lucky to have such good dinner ladies.
