More about this scene

Kinmel Hall stands on a site said to date back to 1311, but this present country house emerged from the ashes of a former mansion destroyed by fire in 1848. H R Hughes and the architect W E Nesfield built the present hall and gardens in the 1870s. This image shows the hall when it was used as a school between 1945 and 1975. In this last year it was again partially destroyed by fire. In recent years it has had a new lease of life as a hotel and conference centre.
