“Got you from the Helpful Book Company and just wanted to say what a very nice website you have, I sent a couple of epostcards already and found it was easy to do, no doubt I will succumb to some paid-for items in due course!!! “I have finally received my eagerly awaited copy of the book "I Remember When...". I was curious as to which story your company had published in the book. I was overwhelmed and astonished to see that you have published four of my stories, one of which is on Page 69. This entailed the story of the Majestic Cinema in Mitcham and my subsequent dream of going to the South Pacific. The pictures attached are in fact one of the islands I lived on for 14 years with my husband and two daughters - the youngest was born there and the eldest was 16 months when we arrived. We were there when Papua New Guinea became an Independent Nation and I have many experiences and memories of the island of New Britain - of course I have written these down - but are only for private publication. We left when my husband was murdered, but that is another story.
I continue to live in the Pacific and at the moment I am in Far North Queensland, Australia.
I will continue to write on your site on the different places I visited during my young years. I enjoy reading the book, it is very well presented, and learning of more experiences of the other writers in the book.
Thank you again for publishing my stories and I look forward to seeing another book published next year, whether it has any of my stories in it or not.
I would be grateful if you can forward my thanks to John M Buck”

“I have just received my picture of Dale Street, and wanted to tell you how pleased I am with it. I lived in Liverpool until I met my husband and came down South, 38 years ago and the picture brings back happy memories of working along there. It arrived in perfect condition too which was good, as the postman has a habit of folding everything in quarters and jamming it through the letterbox. Owing to your excellent wrapping he had to knock at the door. Thank you once again I'm thrilled with it.

“I have just been contacted by a Heather Shepherd who recognised my surname as it turned out her grandmother and I were neighbours for the first 20 years of my life. I write to say thank you to 'Francis Frith' for enabling my memories to become so active and I recommend to any one searching for friends/relatives do not give up as Francis Frith makes it all possible. My impending visit to UK in December 2011 has suddenly become even better than I was expecting. The above has just been posted and since I realise that you may not read every posting I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and your colleagues for the most wonderful site on the Internet.”

“Dear Francis Frith, I am 61 years old and for some years have been unable to locate a grave in North Wales based on a single photo taken in the 30s by my father (now deceased). Thanks to your Photo Gallery I found a cemetery that I didn't know existed, emailed them, and have located that grave. Your gallery is of inestimable value as a research tool. Thank you so much. Yours sincerely, John Hamilton-Smit”

“Just received the map and photo both on canvas on wood frames.
These are excellent, the image is sharp and crisp, I was a bit concerned because it was on canvas but it is very good.
The wooden frames are excellent, very robust and well finished.
I didn't want the standard glass frame as the image would look a bit odd because it was small compared with the overall frame so I took a gamble on having the canvas ones as the size is just the image plus a bit.
Very happy with these.
Best wishes
Ian”

“I posted a comment about how I was evacuated to Ystalyfera at the beginning of World War 11 (late 1930 ) and stayed with my aunt and uncle at Bryncelyn. Low and behold I have received a reply from the son of my long lost cousin, Conway Rees! They now live in Chicago USA and through the Francis Frith website we are now in contact after 60 years. I can't believe it and am eternally grateful for this opportunity”
