More about this scene

Raised above the road, behind a rather forbidding local stone boundary wall, the rather stumpy three-stage crenellated west tower is all that remains of the medieval church. The remain- der was rebuilt in 1846 to their own designs by a firm of local builders, Broadbent and Hawley, in an admirable and quite pro- fessional fashion. There is little of architectural interest to be found inside the building.

Anstey Born And Bred
I was born in Hollow Road in 1944. I then lived in Forest Gate and Cropston Road where I lived until I got married in 1966. I have one brother Bill and two half brothers Charles and Keith and two half sisters Susan and Jane. I attended the infant school and my first teacher was Miss Bromwich. The headmistress at the time was Mrs Pollard. I remember every Friday afternoon having cod liver oil and NHS Orange juice ...see more

Pack Horse Bridge And Surrounding Area In Flood
I was born and bread in Anstey, 21 Rosebery Road, a council house with my 2 brothers Kelvin and Clive. I loved Anstey I still do. I have a lot of childhood memories. I joined the Royal Navy on leaving school, Anstey Martins Secondary Modern, and I am now living in Portsmouth in Hampshire although I have been back several times. I miss the place dearly. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
