Park Hospital

A Memory of Flixton.

A little bit of history here, folks!
Famous for being the location where I had my tonsils out in 1955 (or6?).
Also famous (or it should be) for being the very first hospital incorporated into the National Health Service on (I think) July 1 1948. Yes, this is where it all started! There is (or was) a plaque commemorating this in the main entrance hall.
Now Trafford General. The grounds at the front have long been built on by all the new departments of Trafford General. From memory, there was a rather nice cricket pitch in the grounds just behind the hospital.
