More about this scene

The back of the Crown Inn can just be seen in the centre, where Station Road becomes Hinckley Road, curving south past the parish church, and on to Nailstone and Market Bosworth. The original road to Market Bosworth bypassed Nailstone, following an ancient green lane to the west of Nailstone Gorse. The assemblage of 19th-century houses on the left is almost picturesque, looking out over open fields until the arrival of the houses on the right in the 1930s.

The car opposite is a two-tone cream and blue Riley ? which was thought of at the time as rather posh. It was owned by the father of Russ Hickling ? who I was told was a draughtsman ? and ...see more
I was born at number 15 Sunnyside Estate Ibstock in one of the prefabs 1956 along with my mum and dad and sister. It’s long gone now but think there are bungalows where the prefabs used to be.
I got married in this church in March 1975
I can remember working at the bake house after school clearing and washing up, and on the occasional Saturday morning, I especially remember putting the jam into the donuts and rolling them in caster sugar Happy Days.
