Ivor J Clark Cycles

A Memory of North Harrow.

I lived in Blenhiem Road, North Harrow in the 1950s and did a paper round covering a lot of North Harrow. During the late '50s I joined the Kenton Road Club and took up cycling seriously as a sport, we used to hang out at the branches in North and West Harrow, mainly West Harrow in the Pinner Road (the manager was Terry Cronin). I do remember quite a lot of the other members, but one who I can still call a good friend. I remember the Tythe Barn, I went to Vaughan Road Primary School and then to Lascelles where I was also caned a lot by the then Headmaster, a Mr Mathews. I managed to get away from them and went to the then Willesden School of Building. I also remember going to the Embassy Cinema for Saturday Morning Pictures. I would love to hear from anyone who may remember me.

Hi Ian,
I think you may have known my dad, Leslie Charles Bartlett. He rode in the Kenton road club and i have old receipt of IVOR J. CLARK in Harrow dated 14th May 1959. My dad passed away on 27-6-88 and i was just looking at some photos and saw this post.

Regards,
Peter (Sydney,Australia)
