Gate Keeper 1911

A Memory of Osborne House.

My great grandfather, Arthur Tuffin, was the Gate Keeper at the Lodge in 1911. He was married to Emily Tuffin (nee Banvil). My grandmother, May Alexandra, was born in the Lodge along with her siblings, Milborough & Margaret. Residing with them was my great great grandmother, Milborough Banvil. Her name orignates from DeBanville, they arrived from France. I have a photo of them all outside in front of the railings. My father tells me that my grandmother was known as 'May Bird' by Queen Victoria's children.
