Battersea And Wandsworth The 60's And 70's

A Memory of Battersea.

I have so many memories of my childhood in Battersea and Wandsworth. In fact, I have recently begun writing my autobiography which will detail many of my memories from those early years. I have lived in Southern Spain for fifteen years now and would love to hear from anyone that might share memories with me. Although I think my memory is quite good, I would appreciate any help in filling in the gaps. I have recently retired (aged 66) so it seems like a good time to put "finger to keyboard", not "pen to paper" to try to record the path I've taken to get here.

I was born in 1956 and lived on 31 Lavender Hill Battersea until, at the age of four, my family moved down to Sabine Road, Battersea. I lived there until 1976 when I moved out having married Sue Parry. My Brother (David) had moved out around the same time when he also got married. My mum,(Rose) dad (George), and sister (Valerie) remained living there. Unfortunately, my dad died in 1983, and in 2000, mum and Val moved to Horsham, West Sussex.

I am really interested to hear from anyone who may have similar experiences to mine, prior to moving away from Battersea in 1976 / 77. I went to Shaftesbury Park Junior school from 1960 to 1967. Afterwards, I went to Spencer Park Comprehensive school, Trinity Road, Wandsworth until 1971. I hope to connect with some of you from those times and places.
