Relatives Living In Ilchester Road About 1939 Onwards
A Memory of Becontree.
My Dad, Derek Smith, remembers U Ted Stammers and A May with their daughter Joyce who lived at 166 Ilchester Road. Also, in the nearby area, were U George Clark and A Lou - one of their daughters was Peggy.
He fondly remembers family parties at Christmas and other times throughout the year. He remembers his Dad and U George making a pretend chocolate out of plasticine and putting it back in the box knowing full well that A May would go for it! :-D
He and my Mum would visit several times right up until the 60s when my brother and I would go too.
Some other relatives who I remember as well were U Perce Griggs and A Edie and their children Reg, Audrey who I was a bridesmaid for and Ken.
