Happy Times At The Victoria Hotel The Vic
A Memory of Bramhall.
My father ran this wonderful pub, Edward Armstrong. Our family lived there from 1950, s my early memories were of a grand staircase , a smoky bar , clattering of glasses, laughter , noise, great atmosphere. Lunchtime was busy, my mother Marie, spent most of her time making sandwiches for the luncheoners that daily popped in during their lunch break.
I used to have a rocking horse on the landing , which kept all 3 children amused for hours.
The courtyard was cobbled, with stalls round the back for horses, A victorian building with character,
well, l wonder how many of the natives in bramhall actually remember the Vic.
